Spenser from California
Profile:

Spenser, 14, can't imagine what it's like for young children who don't get to eat what they want when they want it because of diabetes. He was diagnosed at 12, and while everything hasn't been easy--like having to check his blood sugar in the middle of games--it's harder for him to watch younger children deal with the disease. Baseball and basketball are his favorite sports, and he's proud to have been picked for his local traveling all-star team three years in a row. Once, he threw a no-hitter, "a fantastic moment." He also won the MVP award on his cross-country team. Spenser has a strong interest in new technologies and has used his computer to create films. He aspires to being either a professional baseball player or a filmmaker.
